2024 Leadership NORTH is a program that develops potential and current community leaders and enhances their awareness of business, government, and civic issues and motivates their direct involvement in business and community leadership roles. It does this through intensive learning experiences via a planned series of seminars that included small group discussions and leadership skills exercises that are presented once-a-month over a six-month period.

Participants can expect to engage in numerous activities from enhancing negotiation skills and working with groups and teams to expanding their knowledge of regional economic opportunities and state and local government structures. Although session topics and trips vary from year to year, the Leadership NORTH program mainly focuses on leadership styles, state and regional visits, state government, strategic communications for leaders, working together, basics of economic development and reaching out, which provides participating communities the opportunity to discuss the region’s potential, propose solutions and learn how to get engaged.

The annual leadership development program for the north Baton Rouge region was created with assistance from the Louisiana Department of Economic Development and the LSU Ag Center.

Participation in 2024 Leadership NORTH is open to persons living or working in the north Baton Rouge region and the communities of Baton Rouge, Zachary, Central and Baker, as well as the parishes of Pointe Coupee, and East and West Feliciana. Participants must have the full support of the business or organization they represent.

Companies benefit by having their key personnel gain a greater vision of government, business, and community issues; expand their professional networks; enhance their confidence; gain problem-solving skills; and provide greater visibility and exposure for their company.

The Leadership North Alumni Association continues service projects and networking opportunities for all graduate’s past, present, and future.
